In a hurry to finish your draft, so many times it happens that a preposition rears its ugly head, and sends you looking for the right one to use. And you are not alone, it happens to the best of us. So here's a quick list of prepositions that I composed as a handy reference.

- File is located ON a computer but IN a folder or directory.
- Write a file TO a disk.
- Data is saved ON a disk.
- Data is read INTO memory.

- CD is IN a drive.
- Text is copied TO a clipboard.
- Text is moved TO a clipboard.
- An XYZ text box is displayed IN a dialog box.

- Button is ON a toolbar.
- Image is displayed ON a screen.
- Content is displayed ON a website.
- Application runs ON an operating system.
